Rhyncholaeliocattleya Ability Red ‘Sunset Memory’ (2.5” pot blooming size)

New! This orchid is a wonderful, frequent bloomer with glowing red-orange flowers that are large for the size of the plant. A full three quarters of its ancestry is composed of mini growing species with the balance split between a dozen of the large flowered species. The blend helps to produce that elusive small grower that won’t take up too much space with the coveted brightly colored flowers that have the appeal of Cattleya coccinea but with far more adaptability than that fussy species. These are blooming size in net pots set inside a 2.5” square plastic pot and so far, plants out of this batch have bloomed in every month of the year for us. All are ready to go into a somewhat larger pot or basket now, preferably in a rather open mix that dries quickly after watering. It would also grow well mounted with a bit more frequent watering. Red mini-catts are always in short supply so we expect to see our stock of this little beauty exhauster fairly quickly.
