Guaricyclia Kyoguchi ‘Happy Field’ x self (2.5” blooming size)

New! This compact cross between Encyclia inclumbens and Guarianthe aurantiaca can produce masses of long-lasting blooms at the beginning of spring each year. These plants are a self pollination of the ‘Happy Field’ form, which carries the lovely perfume of the Encyclia parent on a soft yellow background with intricate purple lines in the lip. Plants start to flower when small, so while a few bloomed this spring, we expect the entire batch to flower in the coming season, starting out with modest clusters that will improve each year. When awarded, the ‘Happy Field’ form had 58 flowers on a single branched inflorescence. Grow as you would any cattleya type with bright indirect light with regular watering in summer and somewhat less in winter, being careful to allow the pot to dry completely before applying water again.
