Encyclia Orchid Jungle x Ginger Snap (2.5” pot medium sized seedling)

New showy Encyclia cross! Flowers expected to be similar to example photo. Encyclia Orchid Jungle is a primary hybrid between E. alata and E. phoenicea while E Ginger Snap takes that cross and adds E. cordigera. All three species are showy and fragrant with long lasting sprays of blooms in spring or summer. While they are seedlings and therefore each will be unique, the general expectation is for chocolate-colored sepals and petals and showy pink or purple lips on flowers close to 2 inches in diameter with up to 30 or more gracing each branched inflorescence when mature. Fragrance is all but guaranteed. These young plants are in 2.5 inch pots and first flowering is likely 2 years away, though some will be precocious and flower young. As plants mature, they need a very large or open medium in a pot and will do beautifully in a basket. This one will love summer heat and humidity so will do well outside in the summer in hot climates.
