Rhyncolaeliocattleya Asia Pacific (4.5 pot near blooming size)
New! This cross originates in Thailand, where most of the large flowered breeding for art shades is being done these days. But the ancestors are all famous Cattleyas done here in the USA. These are meiclones, so they will be identical, but were released without a clone name assigned. They are fairly compact growers for the size of the flowers, so suitable even if your growing area isnt extensive. The glowing orange flowers can be a challenge to photograph, so we offer two different attempts made to capture their beauty. The will average 5 inches or greater in span, with a yellow under glow in the petals and sepals, with a deeper colored lip offset by two bright yellow eye spots, and naturally are wonderfully fragrant. Blooming will vary due to the mix of parents and ancestors, but will favor late summer through late winter. These are in 4.5 pots with room for another growth or two and are large enough to flower for the first time within a year or sooner.
