Bifrenaria aureofulva (2.5” pot blooming size)
Very Limited Supply – One per Customer! This miniature Brazilian species has gone under many names and is often sold as Stenocoryne aureo-fulva but the name we are using is the accepted name and has been applied to the species since 1843. This cutie makes small angular pseudobulbs each with a single pleated leaf, and prefers medium light and intermediate conditions (not too hot or too cold). Off and on throughout the year spikes of up to a half dozen or more sunny orange-yellow flowers emerge from the base of mature bulbs. These seem to do especially well under LED lights and like regular watering with only slight drying in between, perhaps holding back more during cool, cloudy conditions. All of these have bloomed more than once for us already and are in 2.5” square pots ready to be stepped up to slightly larger with the next new growth.
