Dendrobium cymboglossom (3.5” pot blooming size)
New! This is a very unusual species that is rarely available in commerce and comes from Borneo. It produces dangling clusters of 1.5” flowers at random times of the year from mature canes, usually, but not always once fully leafless. The sepals and petals are generally pale yellow and may have purple shadings or fine purple stripes. The lip is boat shaped (thus the species name) and usually deeper yellow with orange to rust markings. The plant forms a tight cluster of erect to semi-erect stems that start out leafy, but shed their leaves gradually once mature. A full grown plant can have multiple flower clusters at once, and though they never cover the plant in profusion there are usually several flowerings per year. Grow this orchid in medium light levels, intermediate to warm temperatures, and water year round without a rest period. If you are looking for something different that few growers have, get one while we have them in stock.
