Rhyncobrassoleya Copper Queen (3.5" pot seedling)
New! We have been raising these up from community pots of tiny seedlings we got a couple of years ago and now are ready to offer them as they approach blooming size in one or two more growths. This is one of our all time favorite Bc. Richard Mueller hybrids, originally registered in 1997, but recently remade. Nice compact plants with narrow, upright growths can bloom twice per year with 4 inch or larger flowers that are variable in color and pattern, with each one being unique. Typically the background color is yellow to orange, sometimes overlaid with deeper orange or red. The trumpet shaped lip has lots of spotting and a ruffled flare. When blooming for the first time, only one or two will be produced, but as plants mature there can be 4 or more per stem. Our collage photo shows examples from previous versions of this cross. We consider this one to be more easily grown than many cattleya types, and a very dependable bloomer. We are quickly running out of these. One per customer please!
