Rhyncolaeliocattleya Waianae Leopard ‘Ching Hua’ (3.5” pot near blooming size mericlone)
Here is yet another classic that has become hard to find these days, yet deserves to be a part of any collection. Created by Miyamoto Orchids in Hawaii and first introduced in 1991, this beauty produces clusters of richly colored, patterned, highly fragrant flowers, usually in the height of summer when blooms are typically scarce. The medium sized, bi-foliate plants are freely branching so that mature plants can have several flowers spikes at once. These plants are about to overflow their pots and will be ready for a 5 or 6 inch pot soon. We always recommend that you repot right at the time that new roots are just emerging from the newest growths as this helps the plant establish quicker, so don’t rush, wait for the plant to tell you it is ready. All of these are large enough to flower next year.
