Dendrobium Maiden Charlotte

This ‘New Guinea’ hybrid has many of the same outstanding qualities of Den. Mini Snowflake, but offers a less upright, somewhat more graceful presentation and a touch of purple picotee with each flower. Vigorous plants grow only about 8 to 10 inches tall and produce flushes of flowers on arching sprays off an on throughout the year, with the biggest show in the cooler months and some flowers the rest of the time. Blooms are amazingly long lasting, so it is rare to catch a mature plant without at least a couple sprays of flowers. One of our plants received a ‘BEST IN SHOW’ trophy for the genus ‘Dendrobium’ at the 2007 Atlanta Orchid Show! For those of you not familiar with the ‘New Guinea’ Dendrobiums they are easy, adaptable, attractive plants that do not require high light, high heat, or a dry rest to perform beautifully for you. The best conditions would be moderate light, even watering throughout the year, light fertilization, and intermediate to warm temperatures. They grow great as ‘windowsill’ orchids! What is really fantastic about them is that they continue to bloom on new and older growths over and over again, so that the show gets larger with the plant!
