Product Description

C. Jungle Beau x Ctt. Ernest Renan (Stick mounted near blooming size)
We did this cross with an eye for correcting a common mini-catt problem – the short and weak flower spike inherited from C. coccinea in the background. C. Jungle Beau is a fantastic rebloomer producing spikes of 2 or 3 flowers with each new growth but on that fairly weak spike so that they are not displayed at their best. Cattlianthe Ernest Renan is a combination of Gur. aurantiaca and C. briegeri and produces summer clusters of well spaced flowers in sparkling yellow on a strong stem and a very upright and compact plant. We are seeing the upright growth habit showing up in these seedlings, which should bloom on nice strong stems and bear clusters of yellow flowers with some red in the lip and the possibility of some petal flaring. We believe they will bloom at least twice per year, and be tolerant of a wide variety of growing conditions. Don’t miss this great new miniature cattleya! Photo shows first seedling to bloom!
