Vaughnara Golden Spice ‘Red Peppers’ (3.5 inch pot near blooming size)

Product Description
New! This neat and free blooming orchid is a cross between Epidendrum stamfordianum and Bc. Richard Mueller introduced in the 1990’s but out of commerce for a while. Finally, a new batch of the ‘Red Peppers’ form became available, and we jumped at the chance to offer it. Plants stay compact and make a full clump, that once blooming size, produce clusters of charming speckled flowers on every new growth. Each bloom is about 2 inches across and mature plants will make spikes with 10 or 15 or more of them, often with side branches to the main spike. They open a pale cream, dotted in purple, and the background color matures to a bright sunny yellow after about a week. Flowers are long lasting, and with 2 or 3 flushes of bloom annually, they are showy for several months of the year. These are easy “pot plants” that will grow and bloom under a variety of conditions, but will reward bright light and good drainage with better growth and blooms. While they don’t want to stay desert dry, the roots must dry off after each watering to thrive. We are offering these as near blooming size in 3.5” pots. They are well suited for basket or mounted culture, but will also do well in a pot as long as you are careful about watering as previously mentioned. A really “cute” orchid!
