Brassavola subulifolia x Epidendrum raniferum (Mounted seedling near blooming size))

Product Description
We have confidence that this will be one of the more unusual hybrids you have seen in quite some time! B. subulifolia is a clumping plant with terete awl-shaped leaves and full clusters of typical Brassavola flowers with a heavenly night fragrance. Epi. raniferum (cristatum) is an imposing plant that forms a large clump of 3 foot tall stems clothed in alternating leaves and terminating in huge pendulous clusters of 2 inch flowers in green and white with burgundy spots. They continue to bloom from new and old stems year after year! So, what will we get with this hybrid? Hmmmmmm, good question! The plants are growing in clumping fashion and intermediate between the parents with stems of alternating, semi-terete leaves, and vigorous fat roots spreading in all directions like the epidendrum parent. So far they are staying rather on the small size as well. Whatever the flowers exact appearance, they should be unique and fascinating, as well as easy and rewarding to grow. We have found that these do poorly in pots, but root and grow much better on stick mounts, so that is how we are offering them. There are not a lot of these available, so pick one up now if you are looking for something truly different.
